As a Flying Tiger Electric Shop mechanic, I and flight line Lead, Mike Cukor, drove out to Goleta airport in 1968 to perform an engine run in preparation for N447T’s first post guppy test flight. #2 prop failed on run – had to replace the brush blocks. As of 2014 N447T, the last of the CL-44s, sits on the ramp at Bournemouth England. The new owner, Flying Tiger, Wayne Jordan is attempting to put the plane back in flying condition.
